Rei arrived in Republic City at exactly 11 o'candle. It was her first visit to this new and forward thinking city so she was very excited to explore it. The forest ranger group that she is a part of sent her to Republic City today to order some new tools from a company in the city. But Rei was far too amazed by the city to just do what she had come there for. Instead she immediately started checking it out; the streets, the buildings, the parks, the shops, everything. Even though a lot of the city was still under construction and being built up, Rei was truly amazed by the effort put into it as well as the thought behind it all. After having explored the city for the better part of two hours, she took a seat at a central café and ordered something sweet.

Hao rode into Republic City on the back of a wagon carrying cabbages. He was in awe of the city around him, and was unlike anything he had seen. The diverse population of the growing city, the buildings under construction; it was all exciting to Hao. He hopped off the wagon and thanked the man driving it. It took Hao awhile to find someone willing to pick him up and travel was much slower without being able to use a sand sailer. On foot, Hao allowed himself to wander through the city streets, taking in this new environment.

As Rei was sitting at a table just outside a café drinking a cup of warm tea she saw a guy walking by. He was dressed in what looked like desert clothing, so Rei immediately got excited. She stood up from her chair and faced the boy right as he was walking past her. "Did you by chance come here from the desert?" she asked, not realising how weird her sudden question was.

Hao was taken a bit by surprise by the sudden question. He looked the girl up and down, and could tell that she meant no harm and was genuinely asking. He smiled a large grin. "Yeah! Si Wong! I just got to the city!"

"Wow! Si Wong Desert! That's awesome!" Rei exclaims and makes a little skip where she stands. "I just came to Republic City for the first time today as well. Isn't is incredible?"

“Yeah, it is,” Hao smiled. He was surprised by the girl’s enthusiasm and openness. He put his hand out. “My name is Hao,” he said.

"I'm Rei. It's nice to meet you! I'm from the Fire Nation," Rei says as she shakes Hao's hand. After letting it go she looks at him in thought for a little while before speaking again. "You wouldn't happen to know how to sandbend?" she asks. "With you being from the desert and all I figured maybe you could... I mean, if someone can sandbend, they gotta be from the desert, right?"

Hao smirked as he began moving his hands. Sand popped out of a small container he had attacked to his hip, concealed underneath his robes. He played with the sand and swirled it around the air in front of him. "Not all of us can sandbend," he said. "It's not that difficult to get the hang of. Just takes a little more focus than regular earthbending."

"Incredible!" Rei says as she watches the sand swirl around. "I've never actually seen it before. It's beautiful!" She snaps out of the awe once Hao stops. "So tell me, what brings you all the way to the big city, Mr. Hao?"

Hao shrugged, bending the sand back into its canister at his hip. "You get tired of the desert, I guess. Republic City seemed a good enough place for a fresh start. What about you? Do you live here?"

"Oh no no no, I just got here for the first time today as well!" Rei explains. "Been exploring the city for the past few hours and I am certainly not disappointed. I live and work in a forest not too far from here, but my co-workers sent me here to renew a contract of some sort. But I'm not really rushing it. I wanna enjoy the city a little bit first." She finishes her line with a wide smile.

Fon stopped outside a cafe, checking his map. This city is much harder to navigate than I thought it would be. He thought, a minute frown on his face.

Alkar enters the city from the west gate, and headed for the dock. On the way he stops at a cafe i suppose

Rei looks around. "Wow it looks like we arent the only ones who are new in this city," she says to Hao. "It seems like many others have come here for the first time too now that the city is finally starting to open up a few businesses and homes. I wonder what has brought them all here. Whatever it is, I think it's wonderful that this city is bringing people from all over the world so much closer together." She says this with such excitement that anyone around her would be able to hear it.
